This workshop delves into understanding the diverse range of mental health issues young individuals may encounter, exploring early signs of distress, and fostering a supportive classroom environment. Participants will learn evidence-based approaches to promote emotional resilience, effective communication, and collaboration with parents and professionals, enabling them to create a nurturing space where children and youth can thrive both academically and emotionally.

Types of Certification provided by our partners: The Illinois Education Association will provide 5.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for those on a Professional Educator License (PEL). The SIU School of Medicine will provide 5.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for LSW, LCSW, LPC, and LCPC.
